 European Union regulations do not require that product sold in the Union bear a marking of the country of origin.

The Italian ceramics industry believes that accurate and honest information about the origin of imported products addresses the need of customers and end users.

 For this reason Confindustria Ceramica, the Italian Association of Ceramics, has taken a pro-active stance supporting new regulations requiring that imported goods sold in the European Union bear country of origin markings, as it is customary in many other countries.

Moreover, the Board of Directors of Confindustria Ceramica has recommended that its member companies clearly mark the country of origin on the product and packaging.
